May is nearly over and consistent warm weather has finally arrived. We had some warm days in April and on the early weeks of May, but between 5:00 and 5:30 in the morning when I usually run it was still nippy. While the warm weather makes it easier to get going in the morning when it is easy to find an excuse to skip a run and stay in bed, the heat can make your legs feel like rubber and make it hard to breath before the half way point of the run. Humidity is the real killer. When its high the sweat has no where to go makes it feel like your running through warm soup. All you can do is to stay hydrated and to wear sweat wicking clothing.
